Who Knew?

I've found the secret to making the house cool in the summer when you have no air conditioning. And, apparently, how to rid same house of bugs. It is....

LET YOUR 4 YEAR OLD COOK HER OWN PIZZA IN THE MICROWAVE.

Because, even though she has done this a gazillion times with you carefully watching over her to make sure that the only button pushed is the "one minute" button, she will choose this time that you are not carefully watching over her to push as many buttons as possible. And since you are terribly busy playing Sudoku online, you won't notice this until the kitchen fills with smoke and you hear a small voice saying "um. mommy. there's a lot of smokeys in here, and my pizza is black." After that, you will throw all of the windows in the house wide open, turn on every single fan, and PRESTO! Cool house. Then when you spray the lovely lilac scented air freshener all over in an attempt to get rid of the burnt pizza smell, and succeed in creating an entirely new fragrance known as burnt lilacs, the bugs will leave in disgust... or simply drop over dead, as one fly did.

And now, I am off to go to bed in my wonderfully cool if oddly scented home. :)

Quick things

1. THANK YOU LARILYN!!!! Larilyn is the coolest.

2. Click Here: Ana's Blog to enter a supercool contest to win admission to a Girl's Weekend Scrapbook Retreat in Phoenix in August.

3. I want to know why Norman moos, and if it has anything to do with my kid. If you know, tell me.

4. There are 8 people who have been on vacation recently that I know, and only 4 of them have shown me pictures. And of those 4, only 1 has shown me more than 10. Get on it people, some of us have to live vicariously. Here, I'll even show y0u some of mine.

Blurry baseball with a backstop

Kaylas new shirt - Aye, I've trained her well!

At about 1 out of every 4 major intersections in Colorado Springs, there is a statue of General Palmer. Sometime I am going to figure out what this cat did to merit all the statues, and a lake, park, town, and street being named after him. It must have been something good, like inventing Oreos or something.

This might actually be the oldest giraffe in captivity.

As you can see, I have been to Walmart, the baseball field, a major intersection somewhere in Colorado Springs, and the zoo. Pictures of Italy, Disneyland, portions of the country between Disneyland and Illinois, the Carribean, and yes, even Missouri are appreciated. ;)

iWANT.

This:

It's the new MacBook, and the version with the technical specifications I need comes only in black, so how much cooler could it possibly get? It can't get any cooler is the answer. It could get cheaper though, lots cheaper. I can't afford this beautiful thing right now. This would mostly be because I don't work, but I do shop. Go figure. Kerri and I had a nice IM conversation the other day trying to think of ways for me to get one. I didn't save it or anything, but it went something like this:

Me: I could start the "makeanautistickidsmomslifebetter" foundation and ask for donations. Kerri: Put one of those paypal donate now boxes on the blog.
Me: I could "one red paperclip" it, I have this purple pen...
Kerri: You could just start ebaying your stuff again like you are supposed to.
Me: I guess, but then I would have to get up and go sort through stuff.
Kerri: You could get a job...
Me: Wow, that was wierd, yahoo messenger just like shut off there for a second.

Ok, that really is nothing like the conversation we had, but if you think creativity, imagination, and laziness should be rewarded, and you think I should be able to scrapbook in my sunroom, go ahead and click here to donate something to the makeanautistickidsmomslifebetter foundation... or if you have something worth more than a purple pen (it writes in purple ink, AND it's purple) email me at sassytink71@hotmail.com and we can work something out. :)

Blame LaRelle.

Ok, I know I promised that I would do pictures next and all, but then Relle had to go do this 80's song list, which was REALLY missing some things, so I am doing one of my own. In fact, I am going to end up doing several of my own, I think - this one would be the "rock" version. I actually had to like look things up too, to make sure some of these made it into the 80's - apparently both 1979 and 1990 were the years some of my favorite songs came out. *sigh* But, I found some good ones. So sit on back and enjoy rock songs from a better time, before everyone moved to Seattle, cut their hair, gave up the eyeliner, got really depressed, and stopped showering. :) Oh, and these are in alphabetical order, cause it's too hard to rank them really.

1. 32 Pennies - Warrant
2. Angel - Aerosmith
3. Beth - Kiss (I can count this as 80's by using the Eric Carr version, see)
4. Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
5. Don't Treat Me Bad - Firehouse
6. Fade To Black - Metallica
7. Hand Over Fist - Rush
8. Heaven's On Fire - Kiss
9. Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue
10. If You Want My Love - Cheap Trick (note here, I think they are from there, but at any rate, their next album comes out in a few days and is called "Rockford". I found that amusing.)
11. Lay Your Hands On Me - Bon Jovi
12. Little Guitars - Van Halen
13. Looking For Love - Ratt
14. Love Me - Tesla
15. Rock of Ages - Def Leppard
16. Scared - Dangerous Toys
17. Still Of The Night - Whitesnake
18. Sweet Child O'Mine - Guns N Roses
19. Under Pressure - Queen
20. Want Some, Need Some - Poison
21. Yankee Rose - David Lee Roth
22. Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row

Yes, I know there are 22. If it makes you happy, when I do my pop and country top 20 80's lists, they will have 22 songs also. But what was I supposed to take out, really? I know there are 2 Kiss songs, but dang, they are both good. (And one Aerosmith song, but those 2 albums they did in the 80's - NOT my favorite.) In fact, I could add 3 more and do a top 25. Here you go... Paradise City - Guns N Roses, The Other Side - Aerosmith, and You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi. Taadaa! Comments encouraged!
